In a notable achievement, David Prigge, the Director of Career and Technical Education at Lexington-Richland School District Five, has been named the 2023 South Carolina Health Science Educators Administrator of the Year by South Carolina Health Educators, a division of the South Carolina Association of Career and Technical Education.

This prestigious award, presented annually, recognizes administrators who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to providing outstanding career and technical education programs in the field of health science. Awardees are acknowledged for their significant contributions to innovative and impactful programs that enhance and promote Health Science career and technical education. Prigge received this accolade on November 13 during the SC Health Science Educators Conference.

Expressing his gratitude, Prigge stated, “It is a distinct honor to be recognized as the 2023 South Carolina Health Science Educators Administrator of the year. This award represents the dedicated work of School District Five’s Career and Technical Education team.”

With over 25 years of experience in education, Prigge commenced his career in Richland School District One and previously served in the military for nearly two decades. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Coker College and a master’s degree from Capella University.

Tina McCaskill, Chief of Academics at School District Five, commended Prigge, saying, “I am proud of Mr. Prigge for being recognized at the South Carolina Health Science conference. I am excited that his connections and networking will bring further opportunities for our students in School District Five.”
